Chennai: Tamil Nadu Governor K Rosaiah and Chief Minister Jayalalithaa on Friday extended their greetings to Muslims on the eve of Bakrid.
In his message, the Governor said "May Eid-ul-Zuha, the festival of sacrifice build in the spirit of love, sharing and giving spread unity, peace and compassion."
Extending her greetings, Jayalalithaa said: "Let us take a pledge to follow the footsteps of Nabigal Nayakam in love, peace and humanity and live as brothers and sisters on this Bakrid day."
DMK President M Karunanidhi said "Bakrid reminds one that true happiness is born when doing his duty truly. I wish my beloved Muslims who follow the teachings of Nabigal Nayakam on this day."
